{"id":51337,"date":"2024-06-10T08:03:52","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T08:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/06\/10\/netflix-latest-redesign-aims-to-simplify-your-homepage\/"},"modified":"2024-06-10T08:03:52","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T08:03:52","slug":"netflix-latest-redesign-aims-to-simplify-your-homepage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/netflix-latest-redesign-aims-to-simplify-your-homepage\/","title":{"rendered":"Netflix latest redesign aims to simplify your homepage"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Netflix is testing a big homepage redesign on its TV app.<\/div>\n<div class=\"MuiBox-root css-164r41r\">\n<p>The new look replaces the static tiles containing the shows and movies you want to watch with boxes that extend as soon as your remote lands on them.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a change from how Netflix\u2019s existing homepage works, which currently surfaces a title\u2019s trailer and other information at the very top of its interface when you scroll over it.<\/p>\n<p>The new design, on the other hand, consolidates things \u2014 making all the information you\u2019re looking for much more prominent on your screen.<\/p>\n<p>Hover over a TV show or movie long enough, and Netflix will begin playing a short preview directly within the tile.<\/p>\n<p>Below the box, you\u2019ll find all the information about a title, including its synopsis, the year it was released, the number of episodes, and its genre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe often see members doing gymnastics with their eyes as they\u2019re scanning the home experience,\u201d Pat Flemming, Netflix\u2019s senior director of product, tells The Verge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe really wanted members to have an easier time figuring out if a title is right for them.\u201d That\u2019s not the only thing Netflix is changing about its look. The refresh gets rid of the menu that pops out from the left side of Netflix\u2019s homepage and replaces it with a more streamlined selection of options at the top of your screen: search, home, shows, movies, and My Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, you won\u2019t have to scroll to the very top of Netflix just to get to the new menu;<\/p>\n<p>Flemming says you can just press the back button on your remote.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Netflix is testing a big homepage redesign on its TV app. The new look replaces the static tiles containing the shows and movies you want to watch with boxes that extend as soon as your remote lands on them.
