Kylian Mbappe suffered a broken nose during France\u2019s opening game at Euro 2024 but will not need immediate surgery.<\/strong><\/p>\n The French Football Federation said a mask will be made for their captain, but it is not yet known if he will play against the Netherlands on Friday.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old forward was forced off during Monday\u2019s 1-0 win over Austria after his face hit opponent Kevin Danso\u2019s shoulder in the follow-through from an aerial challenge.<\/p>\n He was taken to Dusseldorf hospital where the break was confirmed.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has returned to the base camp of the French team,\u201d the FFF said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe will undergo treatment in the coming days, without undergoing surgery immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n Following the collision, France wanted to replace Mbappe with Olivier Giroud but play restarted without allowing them to make their change.<\/p>\n Mbappe went back on to the pitch without permission and sat down \u2013 picking up a yellow card \u2013 before the substitution was made.<\/p>\n In the post-match news conference, boss Didier Deschamps said their number 10 was \u201cnot doing well\u201d and added \u201chis nose got badly hit\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cWe need to check it out but it seems quite complicated, which is really very unfortunate for us.
