Seven people died on the spot Saturday evening Timau town along the Meru-Nyanyuki Highway after a lorry carrying building blocks ploughed into pedestrians.<\/p>\n
Buuri sub-county police commander Laura Imbacha who confirmed the accident, said several people sustained serious injuries.<\/p>\n
Imbacha disclosed that the accident occurred at about 6.30pm after a truck carrying building stones lost control before ramming into pedestrians.<\/p>\n
The fatal accident also involved a motorcycle, and the rider died on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, some pedestrians died after being hit by the building blocks.<\/p>\n
Good samaritans rushed those injured to medical facilities in Timau and Nyanyuki towns.<\/p>\n
