{"id":6186,"date":"2024-02-27T11:03:54","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T11:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/02\/27\/kwale-treasury-chief-his-4-brothers-arrested-in-sh48-9mn-graft-case\/"},"modified":"2024-02-27T11:03:54","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T11:03:54","slug":"kwale-treasury-chief-his-4-brothers-arrested-in-sh48-9mn-graft-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/kwale-treasury-chief-his-4-brothers-arrested-in-sh48-9mn-graft-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Kwale Treasury chief, his 4 brothers arrested in Sh48.9mn graft case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 27 \u2014 The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Kwale\u2019s Head of Treasury Vincent Mbito alongside his 4 brothers, all county employees, over a Sh48.9mn graft probe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EACC said on Tuesday that Vincent Mbito and his 4 brothers are the Directors and owners of two companies identified as Chilongola Holdings and Rome Investments (K) Limited.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects used the two companies to execute fraudulent deals with the Kwale County Government, EACC asserted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe other suspects include; Mongo Mbito Mongo- County Revenue Officer, Hassan Shilingi Mbito- Driver, Kwale Water and Sewerage Company Limited, Mwaiwe Mongo Mbito- Kwale County Procurement Officer, Chindoro Mongo Mbito- National Government under the Ministry of Health department (initially an Intern at Kwale County),\u201d EACC stated..<\/p>\n<p>EACC is probing 10 contracts fraudulently awarded to two companies. The Commission said the firms secured exaggerated amounts of Sh44,919,341 and Sh4,007,943 respectively in payment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe total amount was distributed to the suspects.
