{"id":6225,"date":"2024-02-27T13:03:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T13:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/02\/27\/gusii-leaders-castigate-nairobi-splinter-terming-it-a-threat-to-unity\/"},"modified":"2024-02-27T13:03:53","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T13:03:53","slug":"gusii-leaders-castigate-nairobi-splinter-terming-it-a-threat-to-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/gusii-leaders-castigate-nairobi-splinter-terming-it-a-threat-to-unity\/","title":{"rendered":"Gusii leaders castigate Nairobi splinter terming it a threat to unity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 27 \u2014 Political leaders from the Gusii community residing in Nairobi have castigated a splinter group that is operating outside the Omogusii Nairobi County Forum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gusii Community leaders led by Omogusii Nairobi County Forum Chairperson, Joseph Nyandika, Nominated Senator Beatrice Kwamboka, ODM Director of Legal Affairs Tony Moturi voiced the protest on Tuesday in a meeting at the Bomb Blast Memorial Park in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>They resolved to champion the unity of the community in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders told off a section of leaders from the community whom they accused of dividing the community in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement read by Senator Kwamboka, the leaders said the Gusii community in Nairobi will soon appoint its Spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur community is organized through a County Chairperson and that leadership cascades down to the 17 constituencies and all the wards,\u201d Kwamboka asserted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe perennial political brokers led by one Stephen Nyarangi, who was the political advisor to the former Kisii governor, cannot destabilize the hard-fought unity of Omogusii in Nairobi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nyandika singled out Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka and Nairobi City County Government Health Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria accusing them of being imposters in the politics of the Gusii Community in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply saddened that the unity and agenda of the Omogusii in Nairobi has been hijacked by political brokers, conmen and masqueraders who are self-driven and mortgaging the noble agenda that characterizes our community in Nairobi,\u201d said Nyandika.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe political cabal has even purported to create and own the community\u2019s Spokesperson in Nairobi.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The leaders also accused Mosiria of illegally installing himself as the Omogusii Spokesperson in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>Kwamboka further appealed to Onyonka to stop involving himself with the politics of the community in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remind Senator Onyonka to oversight Kisii County, which has bigger problems than Nairobi where he is not the Senator. He should address those issues in Kisii before purporting to unite Omogusii in Nairobi,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Adding his voice, Nyandika challenged Senator Onyonka and Mosiria to concentrate on their roles and stop interfering with the mandate of the Omogusii Nairobi County Forum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNairobi City County has had Abagusii senior public servants before Mosiaria. We have advocate Evans Ondieki and the late Eng. Pter Kimori before him. They never had the misplaced zeal that Mosiria evokes,\u201d Nyandika added.<\/p>\n<p>The Gusii Community caucus announced a planned recruitment of community members in Nairobi starting with Embakasi South Constituency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like also let our people know that Omogusii has always benefited solely under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and the ODM party.
