Daadab MP Farah Maalim on Tuesday presented himself before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) in response to summons issued on July 10.<\/p>\n
The MP recorded a statement in relation to a viral video in which he allegedly made inflammatory statements against Gen Z protestors who participated in the recent anti-tax demonstrations.<\/p>\n
According to NCIC, the utterances are likely to incite feelings of contempt, hatred, hostility, violence or discrimination, and affect harmonious coexistence between groups of different political affiliations in Kenya.<\/p>\n
In the video, the MP was heard saying that he would have \u2018slaughtered\u2019 5,000 Gen Z protesters for attempting to overthrow the government during the anti-tax protests.<\/p>\n
The lawmaker has since distance himself from the claims, stating that his remarks were blown out of proportion.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never called for the death of any Kenyans. I didn\u2019t and I will never call for it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
