Chief government pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor Thursday said preliminary autopsy results revealed that the 10 bodies retrieved from a quarry in Kware, Mukuru Kwa Njenga in Nairobi had no gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n
The revelation discounts speculations of alleged extra-judicial killings in the wake of anti-government protests.<\/p>\n
At the same time, government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura weighed into the matter during a press conference on the demonstrations that have been banned over infiltration by criminal elements resulting in widespread looting and destruction of property.<\/p>\n
Mwaura who urged the youth to reconsider their plans said the Kware killings were cases of femicide.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to police, 10 bodies were found in Kware Mukuru kwa Njenga, these deaths are linked to Femicide, not political killings or the result of abductions\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
The prime suspect in the gruesome murders has since been arrested. \u00a0Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, 33, confessed to killing 42 women since 2022 and dumping their dismembered bodies in the quarry.<\/p>\n
Mwaura reiterated the President\u2019s commitment to continuously engage the youths in a view to addressing their demands.<\/p>\n
\u201c As a government, we, therefore, make a passionate appeal to our country folk of Generation Z to reconsider their plans to uphold the demonstrations which have since been infiltrated by goons whose aim is to destabilize the country\u2019s peace. May I reaffirm that the President and the Government at large have heard you loud and clear and we are ready to act on your concerns as demonstrated by the recent developments which show the President\u2019s unprecedented responsiveness to your demands\u201d he assured.<\/p>\n
We appeal to our youth to reconsider their plans to hold the demonstration since that which they were clamouring for has been adhered to, and goons have infiltrated to destabilize the country\u2019s peace and prosperity\u201d he appealed.<\/p>\n
