Ministry of Education Principal Secretary Beatrice Inyangala has announced that a new fee structure will be issued starting August 5\u00a0for first-year students placed in universities by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).<\/p>\n
In addition, she advised parents to disregard previous communications from institutions regarding fees.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ministry of Education wishes to inform the public, particularly parents and guardians of students, that the fees previously communicated in the admission letters for each degree programme are nullified and no longer apply,\u201d Inyangala stated.<\/p>\n
She added, \u201cBeginning August 5, the respective universities will communicate the new fees to be paid by each student as household contribution.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, the ministry confirmed that the placement of students in their respective academic programmes remains unchanged.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish to confirm that their places in the academic programmes are firmly secured,\u201d Inyangala said.<\/p>\n
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has placed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2023 cohort of students in various degree programmes, and the respective universities will communicate the updated information to the students.<\/p>\n
