{"id":70354,"date":"2024-07-26T04:11:52","date_gmt":"2024-07-26T04:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/07\/26\/inside-out-2-becomes-highest-earning-animated-film-of-all-time\/"},"modified":"2024-07-26T04:11:52","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T04:11:52","slug":"inside-out-2-becomes-highest-earning-animated-film-of-all-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/inside-out-2-becomes-highest-earning-animated-film-of-all-time\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Inside Out 2\u2019 becomes highest-earning animated film of all time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inside Out 2 has become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, six weeks after it was released in cinemas.<\/p>\n<p>The film, a sequel to 2015\u2019s Inside Out, has so far taken $1.46bn at box offices worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>That means it has overtaken Frozen II, which made $1.45bn in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Inside Out 2\u2019s total is likely to rise further in the coming weeks, and it is only just about to open in Japan.<\/p>\n<p>The film has also overtaken last year\u2019s most successful film, Barbie, which took $1.45bn.<\/p>\n<p>However, Inside Out 2 has not yet surpassed Disney\u2019s 2019 remake of The Lion King, which earned $1.65bn.<\/p>\n<p>Technically, The Lion King is computer-generated but the studio classed it as a live-action remake, which means it is not considered an animated movie.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Inside Out 2 is now the 13th highest-grossing film of all time.<\/p>\n<p>It has some way to go to catch up with the films at the top of that list \u2013 Avatar ($2.9bn, \u00a32.2bn) and Avengers: Endgame ($2.7bn, \u00a32.1bn).<\/p>\n<p>Inside Out 2 is said to have cost around $200m (\u00a3155m) to make, not including additional costs such as marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Its success marks something of a bounce-back for Pixar, which has struggled in recent years to reach its previous heights.<\/p>\n<p>However, that is partly due to some films being released straight to streaming services during the pandemic, when many cinemas were closed.<\/p>\n<p>Inside Out and its sequel focus on a group of characters, who represent emotions, inside a head of a young girl named Riley.<\/p>\n<p>In the latest film, Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger and Fear are joined by new characters such as Anxiety, Envy and Embarrassment, as Riley becomes a teenager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The top 10 animated films<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inside Out 2 (2024) \u2013 $1.46bn<br \/>\nFrozen II (2019) \u2013 $1.45bn<br \/>\nThe Super Mario Bros.
