{"id":70857,"date":"2024-07-27T09:05:30","date_gmt":"2024-07-27T09:05:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/07\/27\/90-year-old-man-handed-30-year-jail-term-for-defiling-daughter-6\/"},"modified":"2024-07-27T09:05:30","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T09:05:30","slug":"90-year-old-man-handed-30-year-jail-term-for-defiling-daughter-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/90-year-old-man-handed-30-year-jail-term-for-defiling-daughter-6\/","title":{"rendered":"90-year-old man handed 30-year jail term for defiling daughter, 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul 27 \u2014 A 90-year-old man from Kilifi was on Friday handed 30 years in jail for defiling his six-year-old stepdaughter. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Senior Resident Magistrate Daniel Sifuma Sitati found Kea Katana Mdudu, guilty of the offense under Section 8(1) and 8(2) of the Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions(ODPP) disclosed that Mdudu committed the crime on July 16, 2019, in Mwaeba Pangani village, Tsangalaweni, Ganze Sub County, Kilifi County.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Magistrate noted that the prosecution, represented by Ridhwan Mohamed, successfully proved the case beyond reasonable doubt through testimonies from five witnesses, including the victim,\u201d ODPP said.<\/p>\n<p>The court noted that the convict\u2019s actions fell below societal standards hence the sentence.<\/p>\n<p>During the trial, the victim\u2019s mother recounted leaving her daughter in Mdudu\u2019s care while she attended to her business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon returning, she discovered the abuse occurring on their matrimonial bed,\u201d ODPP said.<\/p>\n<p>She then alerted neighbors, who intervened and detained Mdudu until the police arrived.
