This decision not only interferes with the rights of Kenyan consumers but also deeply impacts the Christian community,\u201d EAK stated.<\/p>\n<p>The alliance urged Carrefour to reconsider the decision and not to let international conflicts interfere with consumer choices in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe trust that you will take swift action to rectify this situation and ensure that all Kenyan consumers have access to the products they desire without interference,\u201d the alliance appealed in its February 27 letter.<\/p>\n<p>EAK stressed that the withdrawal of the product significantly violates the religious and economic rights of Kenyans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand the complexities of global politics, but we firmly believe that the Middle East conflict should not be imported into Kenya through commercial actions,\u201d the evengelicals asserted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a prominent retailer in our community, Carrefour has the responsibility to uphold ethical standards, and promote harmony among its customers,\u201d EAK said.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 2 \u2014 The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK) has protested a move by Majid Al Futtaim-owned retailer, Carrefour, to unstock virgin olive oil products from Israel terming it discriminatory.
