Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers have arrested three suspects in illegal possession of possession of 85.7kg of elephant tusks along the Garsen-Witu road.<\/p>\n
The suspects, identified as Faraj Omar, Abdallah Wachu, and Anna Hiribae, were apprehended on Friday following an intelligence tip-off.<\/p>\n
The arrest occurred at around 3PM near Witu along the Garsen-Witu road.<\/p>\n
According to the police report, the tusks which had been cut into four pieces and packed in two green sacks were hidden in bushes along the roadside.<\/p>\n
The elephant tusks, now in the custody of KWS officers, will be examined as part of ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n
The suspects are expected to face charges related to wildlife trafficking.<\/p>\n\n
