Universal Music Group East Africa\u2019s latest signee, Njerae, has released \u201cAki Sioni remix\u201d two years after the track was first released.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Njerae joined UMG EA in August 2024 after working as an indie artist since the genesis of her music career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For her first project for UMG, she teams up with Nigerian music and record producer, songwriter, and sound engineer WonderMajik to create \u201cAki Sioni Remix.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The remix is a rendition of\u00a0 \u201cAki Sioni,\u201d a track from her 2022 successful album, <\/span>Unintentional.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about the rendition, she said: \u201cRemixes breathe new life into an existing track, giving it a fresh perspective.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to experiment with my sound and see how I could transform something familiar into something amazing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its release, \u2018Aki Sioni\u2019 has gained traction, sitting at number 24 on Kenya\u2019s Top 200 Shazam chart and surpassed 10,000 all-time Shazams this week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, Njerae\u2019s first album, <\/span>Unintentional, sits at number 85 on Apple\u2019s Music Kenya\u2019s Top 100 chart two years after its release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Notably, \u201cAki Sioni\u201d also maintains its position on Apple Music\u2019s Top Songs chart at number 66, showcasing its enduring popularity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by how positively her fans received \u2018Aki Sioni,\u2019 she wanted to give her fans a fresh take of the song.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis version brings more of a summer vibe and is the perfect addition to your party playlist,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She further said her collaboration with WonderMajik was seamless.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe just gets me and my sound in a way that feels effortless,\u201d she said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working with UMG EA is offering Njerae international contacts and resources, slowly building her global portfolio.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an official communication of the signing UMG EA wrote, \u201cUMG\u2019s belief is that Njerae is a special artist that will elevate East Africa\u2019s budding music scene to the international stage.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a short time, Njerae has already felt the impact of the support she\u2019s getting from the world\u2019s leading music company.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey have been the missing piece of the puzzle that I didn\u2019t realize I needed,\u201d she said. \u201cI am beyond excited for the amazing projects we\u2019re about to release,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
