Ethiopian Milkesa Mengesha won his first Berlin Marathon, narrowly beating Kenyan Cybrian Kotut with both finishing outside world record time in the German capital on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Mengesha finished five seconds ahead of Kotut in an as yet unofficial time of 2hr 03min 17sec, with both recording personal bests.<\/p>\n
The times were outside the late Kelvin Kiptum\u2019s world record time of 2:00:35 and five-time Berlin winner Eliud Kipchoge\u2019s course record of 2:01:09, set in 2022.<\/p>\n
