{"id":97906,"date":"2024-09-30T14:03:47","date_gmt":"2024-09-30T14:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/09\/30\/makau-mutua-warns-courts-to-steer-clear-of-gachagua-impeachment-drama\/"},"modified":"2024-09-30T14:03:47","modified_gmt":"2024-09-30T14:03:47","slug":"makau-mutua-warns-courts-to-steer-clear-of-gachagua-impeachment-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chezaspin.com\/blog\/makau-mutua-warns-courts-to-steer-clear-of-gachagua-impeachment-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Makau Mutua warns courts to steer clear of Gachagua impeachment drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NAIROBI, Kenya Sep 30 \u2013 Professor Makau Mutua has cautioned the courts not to interfere in the looming impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.<\/p>\n<p>The motion to impeach Gachagua is due to be tabled on Tuesday in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Gachagua\u2019s attempt to halt the proceeding of the motion hit a dead end on Monday after the courts on three separate cases denied to halt the process.<\/p>\n<p>Mutua however, believes the third arm of government should keep off the process. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe courts have no role whatsoever \u2014 NONE \u2014 in the impending IMPEACHMENT of Deputy President,\u201d he wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>Mutua underscored that Gachagua\u2019s troubles are purely political and should be dealt with as such<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a political question for the political branches to settle.
