Coordinated efforts between detectives, traffic, and general duties officers from Voi Police Station led to the arrest of a trafficker and the seizure of bhang valued at over Ksh 7 million.<\/p>\n
The suspect, Collins Otieno Angwech, 50, was driving a grey Voxy (registration KCK 054X), packed with illegal cargo.<\/p>\n
When traffic officers near Izera Ranch signalled him to stop, Angwech attempted to evade capture by speeding towards Mombasa.<\/p>\n
This triggered an immediate response from the DCI and general duty officers, who gave chase.<\/p>\n
After an intense pursuit, the vehicle was intercepted off-road and escorted back to Voi Police Station.<\/p>\n
Upon inspection, officers recovered 1,315 rolls and eight and a half sacks of bhang, with an estimated street value of Ksh 7,135,500.<\/p>\n
Angwech is now detained at Voi Police Station as investigations continue. The confiscated narcotics and the vehicle are being held as exhibits.<\/p>\n
