Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has joined Germany Ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Groth for this year\u2019s Day of German Unity Celebrations in Nairobi County.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s ceremony, held to celebrate 34 years of a united Germany is themed, \u201cGrooving Green for Sustainable Future\u201d, signifying the European nations commitment to climate action.<\/p>\n
Having been the first country to recognize Kenya after indepence, Germany continues to be Kenya\u2019s strongest ally in Europe marked by strong diplomatic relations and deep people-to-people ties.<\/p>\n
Bilaterally, Germany is one Kenya\u2019s strongest partners in climate action supporting several initiatives including the implementation of our country\u2019s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), 3rd National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP III) and Carbon Markets Framework as well as last year\u2019s inaugural Africa Climate Summit (ACS) that Kenya co-hosted with the African Union in Nairobi.<\/p>\n
Several senior Government officials and global leaders are present.<\/p>\n
