81pc of Kenyans want Raila to go for top AUC seat

NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 11 – A recent study by Infotrak shows that 81 percent of Kenyans support Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union (AU) Commission top post.

According to the survey, only 16 percent rejected the move.

Three percent of those interviewed however were not certain of whether to support Odinga’s move for the AU Commission top job or not.

“8 in 10 Kenyans claim they support the move by Raila Odinga to contest for the African Union commission chairperson post comes early next year.81 percent of Kenyans said they support Odinga’s move while 16 percent said no,” the study indicated.

The rating was highest among respondents in Nairobi, Nyanza and Rift Valley areas.

“Nairobi, Rift valley and Nyanza regions give the highest support of Raila Odinga’s decision to contest for the AU commission bid compared to the lowest of 64 percent from the North Eastern region,” it added.

84 percent of females further supported Odinga’s decision compared to 79 percent of their male counterparts.
