NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 27 – The Court of Appeal has ruled that sending explicit messages to a colleague’s WhatsApp account amounts to sexual harassment.
The case arose after an employee sued her former employer, alleging that she received sexually explicit texts from the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The appellate court upheld that such messages create a hostile work environment and fall under the definition of sexual harassment under Kenyan law.
