Exhumation of bodies from Shakahola forest to resume next month

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 15 – The exhumation of bodies in Shakahola forest is set to resume next month.

According to government pathologist Johansen Oduor, this will be the fifth phase of the exercise which shocked the nation.

Oduor further stated that autopsies on 429 bodies have been conducted and DNA results are being awaited.

“We are resuming the exercise in March, in which we will receive the results of DNA tests, release identified bodies to relatives and embark on the last phase of the exercise,” he stated.

“This will include recovery, identifying, postmortem examination, evidence collection and documentation.”
