Fake EACC investigator Held Over Sh2 Million Bribery Scheme

NAIROBI, Kenya Jun A man who allegedly posed as an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission investigator has been arrested a investigator to extort a multi-million shilling bribe from a private contractor.

The Commisssion says the suspect targeted a director of a private company that had been contracted to handle projects for the Narok County Government and falsely claimed that the firm was under active investigation for corruption.

To halt the alleged investigation, the suspect demanded a bribe of 2 million Shillings.

Detectives caught the suspect red-handed as he received an initial installment of 200,000 Shillings.
