NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 18 – The former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is optimistic that Raila Odinga will bring a new era if elected as African Union(AU) Commission chairman.
Joho, who is a close ally of the former prime minister is optimistic that Odinga will deliver hope to African people.
The former Governor further congratulated Raila for his bold step in expressing his interest in vying for the AU chairmanship.
“I therefore congratulate my Party Leader Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga for this courageous step of putting his name forward for consideration for the Chairmanship of the African Union (AU) Commission. Baba, I wish you the very best,” he stated on his official X account.
“I am not only optimistic but also supremely confident that as Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Africa is poised for a new era full of hope for its children,” he added.
Joho is confident that Raila’s superb leadership record will be a key catalyst in the progress and prosperity of the continent which will enable Africa to claim it’s rightful place in the world.
“With his experience and wisdom, Africa is uniquely positioned for a rebirth, and in his steady and firm hands, he will steer our continent and its people to shared progress and prosperity thus claiming our rightful place in the world,” he stated.
