PHOTOS: Inside Kiptum’s govt-built home in Elgeyo Marakwet

NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 23 — Images of the government-funded home of World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum, 24, emerged on Thursday, a day before his burial.

The government completed the construction project for the long-distance athlete who died in a road accident in Kaptagat on February 11 in a record seven days.

President William Ruto arrived in Iten to grace the State-funded funeral on Friday alongside high-ranking officials of both the national and sub-national governments in the region.

Key personalities present at the funeral included National Olympic Committee (Kenya) President Paul Tergat, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, Athletics Kenya President Jack Tuwei, and World Athletics Director of Communications Jamie Fox.
