President Ruto pushes for woman presidential candidate in future elections

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 7 – President William Ruto has challenged United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairperson Cecil Mbarire to make changes to the party’s constitution to ensure that if presidential candidate is male, then a woman must be the deputy or vice versa.

He made the remarks during the launch of the G7 Strategy Plan on Thursday.

President Ruto said the goal is not to discriminate against men but rather to uphold gender standards and push everybody in the same direction.
