“Long-standing encroachment by private individuals who have taken part of this government land not just where this airport sits, but there are other government agencies, whether it’s the prisons, where is the development authority or the county government,” he stated.
Omollo clarified that the entirety of the land where the airstrip sits and its environs Are strictly under the government’s ownership.
“If there is anyone occupying land that belongs to the government, of course, we have the normal Judicial Process to go through but the entirety of this land where this facility sits and the neighboring parcels is government land,” he clarified.
The PS has stressed that that the land is a fundamental tool in the service delivery for the Migori residents.
“We are calling on these individuals to quietly vacate these premises because we need this facility for use for the government for the benefit of the people of Migori and Kenya at large,” he stated.
