The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has called on the government to inspection security equipment especially the military aircraft to mitigate loss of lives following the demise of the Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla.
Speaking during the Memorial Service of the late General Ogolla, Raila noted that for the past five to ten years, many have lost lives due to aircraft accidents.
“It is high time for the country to look at the security equipment especially the military aircraft that have claimed the lives of many officers for the past five to ten years. This is a matter of concern.” Said Raila.
The former Prime Minister also called for thorough investigations into the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of CDF Gen Ogolla and nine other KDF officers saying there was need to establish what brought the plane down.
Francis Omondi Ogolla and the other nine perished on Thursday 18 April 2024.
General Ogolla eulogised General Ogolla as a simple man who believed in his duty to the nation.
