Samuel Nyagah clinches UDA nomination for Ol’Kalou seat

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 9 – Samuel Nyagah has emerged victorious as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate for the Ol’Kalou parliamentary seat.

Nyagah secured the party nomination after garnering 3,221 votes, while George Kanuri came in second with 3,077 votes.

National Elections Board member Jimmy Kahindi handed over the nomination certificate to Nyagah at Mumbi Primary School.

Other candidates in the race included Peter Njoroge Mugo (1,049), Mary Nyokabi Kamau (406), Peter Chuchu Njuguna (158), Maina Kiambati (96), Joseph Ndirangu (90), Ezekiah Kamweru (66), Daniel Ndungu (52), and Stanley Mwangi (43).

Speaking after his win, Nyagah expressed gratitude to his supporters and pledged that his campaign would focus on championing development initiatives for Ol’Kalou.

Nyagah will now represent UDA in the upcoming July 19 by-election, where he will face candidates from the Jubilee Party and the Democracy for the Citizens Party in a bid to become the next Member of Parliament for Ol’Kalou.

The seat fell vacant following the death of the area MP, David Kiaraho, who passed away on March 29, 2026.
