SHA: Wetang’ula to meet Health CS Duale over teachers concerns

Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, has acknowledged the concerns raised by teachers over the difficulties in accessing quality healthcare under the new SHA scheme.

While hosting teachers from Bungoma County at his residence, he assured them that he will meet the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Adan Duale, next week to discuss practical solutions to the early challenges affecting their full access to the scheme.

He further noted that Junior Secondary School teachers reiterated their call for complete autonomy to support the effective implementation of the new education system.

Additionally, concerns were raised regarding fairness in teacher promotion and employment matters, which he committed to pursuing with the Ministry of Education.

The Speaker also took the opportunity to encourage continued support for the development agenda of the President, William Ruto, and urged the teachers to remain united in advancing the country.
