Simba SC too good for Algerians to win Group

Tanzania mainland giants Simba Sports Club eased past Constantine from Algeria 2-0 to finish top of Group A in the round six match of the Confederation of African Football Cup played on Sunday evening at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

After a scoreless first stanza, the host took the lead through Daniel Kibu’s 61st-minute goal before Leonel Ateba doubled the lead 11 minutes from the final whistle.

The result  saw the host finish  top of the group with 13 points, a point ahead of the North Africans, as both teams progressed to the quarter finals.

CS Faxien of Tunisia registered their 1st victory, thumping Bravos Do Maquis from Angola 4-0 in another group A encounter in Tunis.
